Children and young people, as they step into the shared social environment of school life, also share illnesses just as they share many other experiences.

Especially during the first weeks of school, seasonal transitions and the spring months can be exhausting for children, just as they are for adults, due to unpredictable weather conditions. Changes in weather, sleep schedules, and daily routines may weaken the body’s resistance and create a foundation for illnesses. During the school period, commonly encountered conditions include respiratory infections, intestinal infections, and even head lice.
Although school health programs place importance on health screenings, education, and preventive measures within schools, it is still essential to maintain protective precautions under all circumstances.
To help protect both ourselves and our children in such situations, attention should be given to the following:
Hand and body hygiene
Healthy and balanced nutrition
Dressing appropriately for the season and weather
Drinking plenty of fluids
Quality sleep
Avoiding close contact when possible
Using immune-supportive supplements if needed and recommended by a physician
Always using medications under medical supervision when a health problem occurs
Studies show that preventive measures can significantly reduce the spread of infectious diseases.
