Meaningful Gathering for Health in Tuzla: Menopause and Healthy Aging Discussed

As part of December’s theme, “Disease Prevention and Treatment,” the Rotary Accessible Living Club accelerated its efforts by organizing two separate healthcare events in Tuzla.

During the events held together with Bir Adım Sağlık, important topics aimed at strengthening public health were discussed.

An Informative Meeting with Women About Menopause

In the first session of the event, the menopause process was discussed with women participants. As part of the menopause project that has been carried out regularly for the past two years, this gathering addressed the natural yet often under discussed aspects of menopause, which today covers nearly one third of a woman’s lifetime due to increasing life expectancy.

Participants’ questions were answered, physical and psychological changes experienced during menopause were explained through examples, and recommendations were shared on how to manage this process in a healthier way.

Healthy Aging Talk at Tuzla Mercan Aging Center

The second session took place at the Tuzla Mercan Aging Center. During the event, where older individuals came together, topics such as staying healthy, maintaining an active lifestyle, and improving quality of life in later years, especially regarding dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, were discussed.

The strong interest and engagement from participants stood out, while mutual wishes were shared for similar gatherings to continue in the future.

Special thanks were extended to Tuzla Municipality, its administrators, dedicated staff, and the women and family unit for their contributions to the realization of the event.

It was emphasized that collaborations aimed at strengthening public health will continue to grow.
